What is the cost to participate in the WALK/RUN TO REMEMBER?

The WALK/RUN TO REMEMBER is FREE to participate, but registration is required.  You can register online at www.alzbr.org or in person at Alzheimer’s Services.  Fundraising is optional and no minimum amount is required.

How do I get a t-shirt?

You can get an event t-shirt with a $50 donation.  There are other incentives offered at the $100, $250, $500 and $1,000 levels.

Do I have to join a team?

No, you have the option to participate as an individual.  If you are interested in team participation, you can choose to be a team captain and form your own team or join an existing team.

What does my donation support?

All funds donated benefit Alzheimer’s Services of the Capital Area and stay in the 10-parish area we serve.  This includes Charlie’s Place in Baton Rouge and Charlie’s Place in Gonzales.

What time should I arrive?

Registration begins at 8:00AM along with the Opening Presentation and Memory Market exhibit area. The race starts with the runners promptly at 9:00AM and the walkers follow immediately afterwards.

Will race awards be presented?

Medals will be presented to registered runners 3-deep to age groups in 5-year increments ranging from 14 to 80+.  The Top Overall Male and Female will be recognized with special prizes along with the Masters and Grandmasters Male and Female.

Are children allowed to participate?

Yes, children are allowed to participate.  However, they must be registered and the waiver must be signed by the parent or legal guardian if the child is under 18.

Are dogs allowed?

Well-behaved dogs are allowed on a leash and must be monitored by an adult at all times.

What is the refund policy?

All registrations and sponsorships are final.  If the event has to be cancelled for any reason beyond the control of Alzheimer's Services, all contributions shall be treated as a donation to Alzheimer's Services of the Capital Area and will not be refunded.

Do I need to pick up a packet?

You can register, drop off your donations and pick up incentives and race numbers on Pre-Registration Day which is Wednesday, October 3, at Alzheimer’s Services, 3772 North Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA  70806.

How do I purchase a Sign of Support along the route?

Signs of Support are $50 and can be ordered online when you make a donation.  You will be contacted about the message you would like displayed on the sign or you can contact dev2@alzbr.org.  Signs are displayed along the route for at least 3 years at no additional cost.

How do I qualify for the Grand Prize Drawing?

Register by October 4 and raise $100 or more to be entered to win a $1,000 Valued prize.   Need not be present to win!

How do I get my company to match my gift?

You can increase your gift by checking to see if your company has a matching gift program.  Please follow your company’s instructions for processing a matching gift and contact us if you need additional documentation or verification.
