The mission of ALZHEIMER'S SERVICES OF THE CAPITAL AREA is to teach, care for, and connect with those in our community affected by Alzheimer's disease or other memory related impairments.  ALZHEIMER'S SERVICES is a local non-profit organization serving 10 parishes in the Greater Baton Rouge area through educational programs and support services.  Funds donated to the WALK/RUN TO REMEMBER support:

  • Charlie's Place in Baton Rouge and Gonzales are our licensed activity and respite care programs designed to give caregivers a break and provide mind-stimulating activities for individuals with mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease or dementia
  • Helpline provides telephone support for disease information, caregiving issues, and community resources
  • Education programs including Lunch-N-Learn, Annual Education Conference, Sharing the Journey and, Financial Literacy Workshops
  • Resource Library specific to dementia for caregivers and medical professionals to check out
  • Quarterly eNewsletter that provides information on programs and services, including our calendar of events
  • Caregiver Respite Reimbursement Program assists families by covering expenses incurred from using sitters and other care resources
  • Social Events like TLC for Caregivers and Arts and Alzheimer's, are events for Alzheimer's-affected individuals to enjoy with their family
  • Caregiver Network Groups are monthly meetings throughout the 10 parish area sponsored by Alzheimer's Services that allow caregivers to lend one another support and encouragement
