Kim's Alzheimer's Services VIRTUAL BR WALK/RUN TO REMEMBER 10/10/20
Dear friends, family and extended family,
This year, due to COVID related safety issues, the WALK /RUN to REMEMBER is VIRTUAL; however, t-shirts, personalized signs and incentives are still available... and Sponsors needed. The Walk to Remember VIRTUAL Event will start at 9AM on October 10th.
I WALK in memory of my late father, Danny, who died, just over a year ago, on September 9, 2019, from complications from Vascular Dementia/ Alzheimer's disease. I also walk in honor of my mother, Marie "Nettie" who was diagnosed four years ago with Alzheimer's and Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH). Alzheimer's disease is the most common type of demenia and it is not new to my family, as my mother is the fourth sister in her family to receive a related diagnosis. I will also be walking in memory of parents and loved ones of friends and family. Most recently, LeVerne "Bunny" Boudreaux LeMay, Carol C., and Gene F. are now in heaven, with all the special memories of their loved ones. Also, keeping in my heart Karen M., Maria "MeMe" and Louis "DeDe" H., Jeanne R., Cecile H., Pearl C., Mrs. Lou, Mr. Smithy, Jerry and Marie A., Mr. Malcom, Mrs. Zito, Mr. Argrave, Mrs. Colona, Mrs. Bilbo, Joyce H., Cathie W M., Nancy G., Sherri, Stan A, Jeanette, Mrs. Maggie, Stan S., James S. and countless others.
Please join me and the P&N team in supporting Alzheimer's Services VIRTUAL WALK/RUN TO REMEMBER as they offer valuable education, resources and services to support those attempting to cope with Alzheimer's or relatd disorder. If you can't walk or donate funds, when things open up again, post-COVID, please consider offering to volunteer at a local organization, nursing home or offer to relieve a family member/friend that is a CAREGIVER (regardless of the disease or circumstance), or just spend some time with a resident that rarely, if ever, has a visitor. Contact the activities coordinator at any nursing home for more information at some time in the near future.
YOU can make a difference. Any amount of support, small or large, will be very much appreciated.
Thanks and Godspeed, Peace, Kim

Postlethwaite & Netterville, APAC (P&N), encourages all employees to give to the community and volunteer via CPA Volunteer Day. September 20th, 2019, I was one of 100s of P&N employees (in Baton Rouge, Metairie and Lafayette) to do so and elected to volunteer for Alzheimer's Services of the Capital Area (10 Parishes) and for the second year, spent my time (with two other co-workers) at Charlie's Place Activity and Respite Center in Baton Rouge. Charlie's Place is a program for individuals with early to mild stage Alzheimer's and Dementia related disorders designed to provide cognitive simulation and social interaction while giving CAREGIVERS a much needed break.
