A 25th Year to Remember
Yes! It's been 25 years since that very FIRST Walk in 1995 where we had 75 walkers and raised about $14,000. I was proud to serve with Honorary Chair, the late Buckskin Bill, and the members of the first core committee back then and even prouder to be a 25th year participant and to witness the growth of this annual event through the years.
My friend, Peggy, journeyed with Alzheimer's disease for about 22 years and died at 102 years of age. Actually, in addition to commemorating 25 years of the Walk to Remember, I am also commemroating the 10th anniversary of her death, in the same month as the event. Our special song during visits was "Amazing Grace," and I have tried to honor her, as well as all those who are affected by this debilitating disease.
Because my deceased brother's only son is getting married on the same day as the WTR, I regret that I can only walk in spirit this year, but we can all continue to make a difference with support. Join me in spirit and love for all those affected by Alzheimer's disease on this 25th year of the Walk to Remember.
Thank you and bless you for your support!
